Happy June, friends! I couldn’t be more excited for the new month. Typically May is one of my favorite months of the year. I get to celebrate my birthday, I polish off my school year, summer begins, and I typically spend the last two weeks of it hanging out with friends. Now, for obvious reasons, my May didn’t go as expected. My birthday was still a lot of fun, but my school year was wrapped up online, I haven’t seen my friends in months, and it doesn’t quite feel like summer yet. Due to the stress of everything my May reading month was one of the worst I’ve had in a very long time. I only managed to read five books, but I’m hoping to have a more successful June.
The books that I read are:
- The Sullivan Sisters by Kathryn Ormsbee 2.5/5 stars
- Today Tonight Tomorrow by Rachel Lynn Soloman 5/5 stars
- Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte 2/5 stars
- The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck by Mark Manson 4/5 stars
- (reread) The Upside of Falling by Alex Light 4/5 stars
Total Pages Read: 1,812
Favorite Read of the Month:
This book blew my mind! It was adorable, heartwarming, and I loved every minute of it. The writing was phenomenal, the characters were three dimensional, and the story was incredibly atmospheric. I feel totally in love with this book and I cannot wait for it to be released on July 14th so that everyone can fall in love with it too.
Least Favorite Read of the Month:
In full disclosure, I was forced to read this book for school. I”m not usually one for classics and I probably wouldn’t read them unless I had to. That being said, I just didn’t enjoy this. The writing was lengthy and I found it hard to stay focused while reading.
And with that…May is over! What books did you read in May? Have you read any of the ones I mentioned here? Leave a comment and talk about books with me!
