Hello friends! It’s been a long while since I last got new books, and February has been such an amazing month for new books. When I started college in Fall 2021 I deeply struggled to manage time, especially towards my hobbies. I was reading maybe one book a month, which totally broke my heart. Due to my lack of reading I also stopped hauling as many books. However, I’ve made a goal for 2022 to focus on myself, my personal growth, and my hobbies. So, ICYMI I’ve been reading one chapter every single day for January and February. I’m setting monthly goals to achieve my dreams and refocus on what matters to me. So far, my reading goal has been going great! (My yoga goal not so much).
So far in February I’ve picked up (or been kindly sent) FIVE incredible books that I am so excited about!
1) The Roughest Draft by Emily Wibberley & Austin Siegemund-Broka
The Roughest Draft is easily going to be on my list of all time favorites of 2022. It’s beautifully written story that features forced proximity, second chance romance, and lots of emotions. I stayed up until three in the morning so I could finish this in one sitting! Emily Wibberley & Austin Siegemund-Broka are long time favorite authors of mine and I’m really looking forward to seeing them write even more adult romances in the future, especially after loving this one.
I purchased my copy from Emily and Austin’s local independent bookstore, so my copy came signed and with the preorder goodies! The prints are so stunning and I feel lucky to have my copy signed!
You can check out my full review here! I gave this 5/5 stars. Source: Thank you so much to Berkley for providing me with an e- ARC so I could read and review this early! Additionally, I purchased my own final copy.
2) Finlay Donovan Is Killing It by Elle Cosimano
I’m not sure if it was just me, but I’ve been seeing buzz for this novel everywhere recently. It’s been all over bookstagram, and a booktuber I love was talking about it. So, on a spur of the moment trip to Half Price books I decided to buy a copy and see what the hype is about. The synopsis of this book sounds promising and amazing. While I haven’t had an opportunity to read it yet, I know I’ll be getting to it as soon as possible!
Recently I’ve started to find myself gaining more interest in adult novels, which Isn’t something I had felt much before. I’ve always been an avid reader of young adult, but since moving to college I keep finding new adult books I’m itching to try! So, part of my excitement of this novel was the it sounded incredible, but also that It gave my a chance to continue exploring more adult stories. Plus, the cover is pink, so there was simply no reason to not buy it.

3) These Deadly Games by Diana Urban
A few weeks after returning to school for my Spring 2022 semester, I got an email saying a package from Wednesday Books had arrived at home. Jump forward to this past weekend and I was so excited to realize it was a copy of These Deadly Games by Diana Urban! This is one of my most anticipated releases of the year and I was so sad when I wasn’t able to pre-order it and had to buy textbooks instead. So, you can image my excitement to find a copy waiting for me at home with all the stunning preorder goodies!
I loved Diana Urban’s debut novel, All Your Twisted Secrets, and I’ve been following her on social media for the longest time! I highly recommend checking out her books if you haven’t had the chance to yet. They’re perfect for readers who like YA thrillers.

4) Chasing After Knight by Heather Buchta
While looking through a list of 2022 releases I discovered Chasing After Knight. This is a young adult contemporary book that features childhood friends-to-lovers and a movie star romantic interest. It also has a friends to enemies to lovers sort-of vibe. How fun does this sound? I love the tropes this book includes and it really sounds so good. I have it waiting on my kindle for a rainy day. It seems exactly like the type of book I could sit down and devour in one sitting!
In quick funny stories, I accidentally requested this book twice without realizing it! I was excited to request it from the publisher in January… and had totally not realized they had approved me for an e-ARC last fall! oops!
Source: Penguin Teen provided me with an e-ARC of this book. Thank you so much, Penguin Teen! I really am so excited to get to this book as soon as possible
5) The Counselors by Jessica Goodman
Last year I read Jessica Goodman’s sophmore novel, They’ll Never Catch Us, and enjoyed it. So, I am very excited about receiving an e-ARC of her upcoming release! The Counselors comes out May 31st and sounds thrilling. It features best friends, summer camp, and of course someone just happens to turn up dead.
I love young adult thrillers and haven’t been reading nearly enough of them lately. The Counselors is at the top of my TBR for the genre and I’m excited to have the chance to read it early!

What a fun little haul! I haven’t read the first Finlay Donovan book, but I’ve heard such raves about this sequel that I’ve considered adding them both to my TBR. I’m definitely excited to pick up The Roughest Draft at some point!
