Happy Monday! During the past few months of quarantine I’ve been slowly building a huge pile of books in the corner of my room that are waiting impatiently to find new homes. At this point the pile taunts me, I’m honestly scared that someday it’s going to be crashing down while I’m sleeping. So, before they fall onto me while I sleep, I want to share Five Books I’m Unhauling (& my reasons for why).
1. Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater // goodreads
After years, I’m finally dehauling the entire Shiver trilogy. I read these books in 2017 and found that they weren’t for me. Now, three years later, they’re still taking up space on my shelves despite not having reread them or having ever taken photos of them. Therefore the trilogy has now found it’s way into the dehaul pile.
2. 99 Days by Katie Cotugno
Y’all, I tried. I really tried. Despite all of the reviews I’ve seen for this book I thought I would go ahead and read it anyways. But, let’s just say that the reviews were right. This is one of the worst books I’ve ever read and I’d prefer for it to not be taking up shelf space anymore. You can find my full review for it here!
3. Again, But Better by Christine Riccio
Not to sound like a broken record here, but this was another book that I tried despite bad reviews…and I should’ve saved the time and money by listening to those reviews. I was let down a lot by this book and feel no need to keep it around anymore. I DNFed it around 30%. You can find my full review here!
4. Hearts Made for Breaking by Jen Klein
Jen Klein wrote one of my favorite YA contemporary books, Shuffle, Repeat , so I was excited to try out another book from her! Sadly this story wasn’t for me and I ended up giving it 1.5/5 stars. I couldn’t connect to the characters and decided to let my copy go. You can find my full review here!
5. The Antidote by Shelley Sackier
I’m so sad to be letting such a stunning cover go, but alas, I don’t think it’s worth keeping anymore. I gave this book 1.5/5 stars over a year ago and at this point I feel it would be best for my copy to find a new home. You can find my full review here!
