Hi! Happy Saturday! It’s been a while since I last shared a #Currentlyreading Shelf Spotlight, so I thought it may be fun to share one this week to talk about the books I’ve been reading. Over the past month or so my reading schedule has been a wreck, but I’m trying my best to get back into the swing of things. So, today we’ll be focusing on what books I’m #currentlyreading today: June 13th, 2020.
1. All This Time by Rachael Lippincott and Mikki Daughtry
Reading Spot: 22%
First Line of the Book: “The Charm Bracelet feels heavy in my palm. I’ve looked at it about a thousand times, but I check it again because I know it has to be perfect, able to fix whatever needs fixing” (1) (NOTE: this quote is from an early reading copy and is therefore subject to change)
So far, I’m seriously loving this book. I started it on a whim one night and couldn’t put it down for over an hour! The writing is beautiful, sad, intense, and has me hooked. I’m excited to continue with my reading and I have a feeling that this might be a 5 star read for me.
2. Clique Bait by Ann Valett
Reading Spot: 349/356
First Line of the Book: “The first time I wore this shade of lipstick, I was eleven. Monica had pulled at my chin to pop open my mouth, painting my lips with the brightest cherry red, her amber eyes following her movements carefully– an artist examining her work” (1)
I’m practically done with reading this book, but I couldn’t help but to add it to this post. I’m beyond hooked with this story. It’s addicting with an amazing plot and I’m loving every minute of it. I went into it without much expectations and I’ve been blown away.
3. Banana: The Fate of the Fruit That Changed the World by Dan Koeppel
Reading Spot: Chapter 2/36
First Line of the Book: “If you are an average American, about forty yeas old, you’re probably approaching banana ten thousand, just as I am” (xi).
Then, with every #currentlyreading post comes whatever book I’m required to read for school. This time around it just so happens to be a book about bananas! Thus far I’m enjoying the author’s narrative a lot and I’m hoping to enjoy the other 34 chapters that I have to go.
And, that concludes my list of the books that I’m #currentlyreading ! How about you? Leave a comment and talk to me about what you’re reading or give me a recommendation!
