It’s been way too long since my last bookish recipe, and now that I’m officially free from school for the summer I am happy to share my most recent bookish inspired recipe: Cameron Bright’s Brownies! This treat is inspired by the amazing protagonist of If I’m Being Honest by Emily Wibberley and Austin Siegemund-Broka.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup butter, melted
- 3 cups white sugar
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 4 eggs
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- Half a bag of white chocolate chips
Instructions:
Before starting all the baking fun, preheat your oven to 350 degress and grease a 9 by 13inch baking dish. I normally prefer a metal pan for this!
Combine the melted butter, sugar and vanilla in a large bowl until completely mixed. Beat in eggs one at a time.
In a different large bowl sift or mix together the flour, cocoa powder and salt together.
Gradually stir the dry ingredients into the egg mixture. Normally while doing this I scoop one cup of dry mix into the egg mixture at a time and combine until everything is smooth.
Dump half a bag of white chocolate chips (or, let’s be honest, all the chips you want) and mix.
Pour the mixture into a greased pan and cook in the oven for 35-40 minutes. Then BAM! Enjoy your brownies! Serve with chocolate syrup and all the brutal honesty you can muster.
I loved making these Cameron Bright inspired brownies. They’re full of flavor and have a bit of surprise in them with the white chocolate. They’re the perfect reading snack and taste amazing with a nice side of contemporary goodness.
