I have been eagerly waiting for this book to arrive on my door step since this theme was announced… which was over two months! I knew the moment the theme was announced with the promise of an item from The Hunger Games I couldn’t be disappointed. The icing on the cake was when it was announced that this month’s box would be featuring TWO BOOKS. Two! This box was amazing inside and out (they even changed up the box design for the theme) and I couldn’t be happier with the contents that were inside. So without further ado, here are the contents of Fantastical Read’s October “Out of Time Box” and my honest thoughts on each of the items.
Every month thus far Fantastical Reads has included a cute art print from Ben Byrd and the selection is always adorable. This month’s choice was this Grim Reaper art which came unbent and in a plastic pouch to keep it safe.
I am a huge fan of hot chocolate, and this was delicious. Although I’ve never been a huge fan of spice I really enjoyed trying this new take on my favorite warm drink. I’ll be drinking this all Winter long!
The lip balm included in this box from Beard and Lady is drool worthy. It’s a combination of chocolate, cardamom and rose that smells delicious. Plus the box also included an arrow printed lip balm holder that’s been giving me major Hunger Games vibes.
I think this item may be the highlight of the box for me because I can never get enough Hunger Games inspired merch. Fantastical Reads is always blowing my mind with unique bookish items I would never dream up and this is top of the list. This place mat is the perfect side and is very well sewn. I love it!
Any photo I take of this jar won’t do it justice… it’s too pretty for pictures. On one side it says “Claire’s Herbal Remedies” and on the other “Fraser’s Ridge”. The jar is huge and very well made and came packaged in a mini box to keep it safe during it’s travels.
I’ve already begun using this journal and I love it. It’s slim and fits perfectly into all my bags. The bookmarks that came wrapped around it are gorgeous and well made. They both had intricate metal details and fit snuggly around book pages without tear
I love throwing cards into my Instagram photos, which also means I am constantly loosing cards and find them all over. This pack of cards are super cute and perfect for photos so I can try and stick to only using one deck in photos from now on, I’m really happy these were included in the box! They’re going to make bookstagramming a lot easier in the future
As I mentioned before, this month’s box featured two book and the first is Grim Lovelies by Megan Shepherd! I’ve heard a lot of great things about this book and I’m really excited to start it soon. It came with it’s own author letter and signed bookplate which I love getting!\
Then the second book featured in the box was Blanca and Roja by Ann-Marie McLemore. I hadn’t heard of this book before but if the beautiful cover wasn’t enough to intrigue me the synopsis had me hooked. This book came with an author letter and signed book plate too!
Fantastical Reads never fails to impress me with their boxes. From their book selection to unique items I’m finding myself falling in love with that they send out every single month. If you’re interested in getting some boxes from this wonderful company you can use my rep code “CINNAMON” to get $10 off a three month subscription on their website!
